| 14° | 1:4 | Too steep for most applications. Acceptable in some cases for very short ramps or lightweight scooter vehicle loading. |
| 10° | 1:6 | Acceptable in some cases for assisted access and powered wheelchairs. |
| 8° | 1:8 | A good balance between gradient and space use, suited for events, etc. |
| 6° | 1:10 | Will provide independent access for most wheelchair users if space allows. |
| 5° | 1:12 | Often required by social services and authorities. |
Remember — the longer the ramp, the easier the slope!
